Equine Embryo Transfer

We are the only clinic in the area offering Equine E.T. This is an excellent opportunity for owners of valuable mares with either problems maintaining pregnancy or for owners of mares that are involved in performance to have a foal. The donor mare's estrous cycle is snychronized with the 2 other recipient mares.

 The donor mare is bred as usual and 8 days after ovulation, the embryo is flushed from the donor mare and inserted in the recipient mare that is cycling closest to the donor mare.

Ovulation is checked accurately with ultrasound and pregnancy can be determined by ultrasound at 14-16 days after breeding to the donor mare, or 6-8 days after inserting the embryo in the receipient mare.
